The classic format
A standard 5×5 grid contains each number from 1 through 25 exactly once. You locate 1, then 2, and continue to 25. Smaller 3×3 tables have nine targets; our online trainer also offers sizes up to 9×9. A new round shuffles the positions.
What happens during a round
The task combines a visual search for the next target with remembering your place in the sequence. On this site the clock begins with the first correct tap and stops after the last. The result depends on the grid, screen, input device, and your familiarity with the task.
What the score does not mean
Completion time is useful for comparing your own attempts under similar conditions. It is not a vision exam, an IQ score, or proof that reading and memory have improved. Try the exercise as a game and adjust the size for comfort.
